Five years of traveling together! Chau Ming led + AI + XR again participated in the Spring Festival Gala in 2026
Lights illuminate thousands of homes; melodious songs welcome the Lunar New Year.
On New Year’s Eve, February 16, CMG 2026 Spring Festival Gala premiered as scheduled. As a cultural New Year feast connecting all corners of the world and conveying happiness and good wishes, China Media Group (CMG) adhered to the integrated development philosophy of “Ideology + Art + Technology”. By adopting cutting-edge technologies such as AI, AR and XR, it built an immersive three-dimensional visual effect featuring “people dwelling in the scenery, and the scenery moving with people” across virtual and real realms.
As a long-standing partner of the CMG Spring Festival Gala, Unilumin Technology has taken an in-depth role in this national cultural event for five consecutive years. Under the overall arrangement and guidance of the CMG Technology Bureau and the Gala director team this year, Unilumin not only provided top-tier XR screen hardware support for the main venue in Beijing, but also deeply participated in stage design, visual effect production and digital asset creation for more than ten programs. Spanning from physical visual presentation to digital content creation, Unilumin delivered all-round in-depth participation, presenting a sensory feast where technology and art are perfectly integrated for global Chinese audiences.
The hit song program Crafting the Future was jointly created by Unilumin Technology, Magic Atom and other high-tech enterprises.
Beyond solid support in content creation, Unilumin’s hardware solutions also quietly laid a solid technical foundation for the stage. At the auditorium and Stage Area F of the main venue, Unilumin built large-scale XR background screens combining facade screens and floor tile screens, together with a real-time rendering system. It met the requirements of multi-camera live broadcast via real-time rendering of camera feeds and AR virtual content, breaking the physical boundary between the stage and the audience.
In response to the extreme safety requirements of the Gala live broadcast, Unilumin’s XR display system adopted full dual backup for power supply, power distribution and signal transmission. The main and backup circuits run in parallel to ensure zero screen flickering and zero signal interruption, meeting the highest global live broadcast standards with ultra-high reliability.
Behind every perfect frame lies Unilumin’s persistent pursuit of excellence. Beyond the spotlight, a dedicated technical team of over 20 professionals implemented a strict inspection and maintenance system. From power-on switching tests every day to precise temperature measurement of stage screens, every inspection record stands as Unilumin’s sincere commitment.
At this year’s Gala, creative performances, song and dance shows, opera acts and other programs dazzled the audience. Technology is no longer merely a background, but an integral part of narrative storytelling. With its one-stop “Hardware + Content” solution, Unilumin’s content team helped the director team realize the integration of traditional culture and modern technology.
For instance, the song Crafting the Future was jointly developed by Unilumin Technology and high-tech enterprises including Magic Atom. Tech elements such as VR glasses, Beidou navigation and drones were transformed into stunning digital visuals. Jordan Chan, Jerry Yan, Luo Jiahao and Jackson Yee sang in a futuristic immersive space. Leveraging AIGC technology, Unilumin vividly visualized the great leap from “Made in China” to “Intelligently Made in China”.
In another highlight, the graceful rhythm of Suzhou Pingtan blended with digital visual effects in Warm Years at Home. Unilumin’s digital team delicately restored the earthly warmth and charm of Suzhou dialect with digital brushstrokes. In the duet Long Time No See performed by Ren Suxi and Mao Buyi, the warmth of reunion after a long separation was vividly presented on stage via real-time rendering technology.
In line with the Year of the Horse theme, Unilumin polished every piece of digital asset with meticulous craftsmanship. From Ancient Silk Road Melodies and Galloping Chestnut Horses to Auspicious Steed, the horse culture rooted in ancient legends was brought vividly to life through digital technology.
In addition, Unilumin’s content team provided in-depth support for numerous programs including Drop-in Guide, Voice of the New Spring, Spring Glory Fills the Opera Garden, Dreams Afar, Autumn Harvest Sharing, Rhythm of the Land and Blessings Arrive, empowering artistic expression through digital technology.
The 2026 Year of the Horse Spring Festival Gala marks another milestone leap in the integration of technology and art, and also witnesses the fifth year of Unilumin Technology accompanying CMG’s growth.
Five years represent a journey, and more importantly, a bond of trust.
From the 720° curved screen in 2022, to AI spatial rendering and spatial computing in 2025, and further to the in-depth integration of AIGC and XR in 2026, Unilumin Technology has always stayed at the forefront of optoelectronic display technology. Going forward, we will continue to deepen the integrated path of technology and art, and add technological splendor to the New Year’s Eve of hundreds of millions of families through continuous technological innovation.
Bright lights shine over every reunited household.
Unilumin Technology wishes you great fortune and a brilliant future in the Year of the Horse!
